Why should you? I know you will.
What makes me so confident that you will?
Because the topic I am going to talk now will kindle your passion too.
It will make you do what all these days, months and years you were finding excuses to not do.
Yes, you are right. WRITING.
Why should YOU start writing? Of course, writing as in digital world.
I know everyone peeping in this blog would be contributing to the digital bits on the internet – be it twitter, or Facebook or Instagram or you name it.
So, while you are already writing, why am I saying you should start writing?
No one can push you into writing. And no one should be pushed too.
For the ideas are from within yourself and not from the ones who push you to write.
I am not going to suggest what you want to write, and what you should not. Who am I to advice?
But, I am just going to list out the options, possibilities and end less list of topics.
When I started my first blog a decade ago, I had no idea on what to start with.
All that I was interested, was only travel and roaming. During such travels I noticed that there are many people who are looking for information. Looking for direction. Looking for recommendations. Looking for suggestions.
Me personally googled a hell lot of information to plan some trips. That is what made me think.
Who puts those information in there, and WHY?
When Knowledge and Time is money why do people post it on internet for free?
Its not to show off that they have been there, done that category.
Believe me, there are still lots and lots of souls out there who want to help others genuinely.
Some help the strangers on the road with directions, some help friends on planning nice vacations, some help relatives to plan for camping and every other person does it in his / her own methods.
So, all these was enough to convince me that I need to write on where my passion was.
Writing was also a passion, but when it came on what to write, I took the other passion – Travel.
Yes, I started sharing details on how did I plan my travels, put out the mistakes done to alert the next person, share the information about public transports etc etc.
And we all love to say cheese on cam, so including tons and tons of images out there.
Hey, its free and why to be a miser?
Let’s be wiser and share the pictures clicked.
It entirely up to you to decide whether to share the pictures of yours and friends. but I would recommend to put up the pictures of the places visited. If possible even the directions, important sign boards, bus transports, stations etc etc.
We in this decade are gifted with so many gadgets. I still remember those days when I had multiple map books and going crazy turning pages. But now that we have google maps, and Tom Tom etc it has become much easier.
So, posting the google maps screenshot to your log will be of great help. Sharing even the gps coordinates will be very useful for logs related to trekking and camping which is mostly off the roads.
If you are interested in cooking, even more better. Just keep posting the pictures of your every other cooking adventures and write a crisp notes on what went well and what not.
If you are regular commuters, look around. You have plenty of character around on road, transport, office and every where. You will have plenty of interesting topic to write on.
If you work in a school, wow, you are the luckiest with cute young kids giving you ideas after ideas.
So, now knowing about what to write, why are you waiting?
Oh, I know. You are waiting to know about where to write.
You don’t need to spend money in setting up the website.
When I started, I felt very comfortable with blogspot and had my travelogues on blogspot. As long as you are not looking for too fancy, it was OK. I was content.
But recently after my venture into writing books, I felt the need for a website and not just a blog posts. So I moved to this WordPress, which is much flexible.
Of course, these are all my personal observations only and could change for you.
Where you blog does not matter, what matters is what you blog.
So, go ahead.
Good luck, start today.
