Are we looking for answers? Or an opportunity to trash anything?
Strange world, and strange people. What do they want?
Have you ever noticed, that when you say any comments or viewpoints about something, they would ask if you have been there or done that?
Hey friends, what do you think? Should I fall and break my bones to comment that you will die or get hurt if you fall from a tall building like LIC?
All one needs is a little bit of common sense to know that it will happen. And people die if they consume poison. I hear some saying, oh, not all die when they had poison. Many have been saved.
So, does it mean, Poison do not kill? Just because some have been lucky and escaped from the mouth of death does not mean, Poison is good. Right?
The same people who jump and ask if you have been there or done that, jump again. This time for something we say after experiencing it. Why do they jump? What do t
Simple. They say we are jealous of them experiencing it. Since we have experienced it, we are blocking them from enjoying it.
I am not quoting this based on one stray incident. I have seen umpteen examples around me. I see this very often in the student community here. I do not want to pen it down as it would be more of ranting and provide some negative vibes.
But, can not anymore. Let it be known, and let some realize they need to change.
Are we Jealous?
Young students who are wanting to move to European countries for higher studies have many queries. I appreciate the queries and have helped many to get answers. Not just me, many of my friends too contribute to such help.
What is the predominant question these new kid in the town have?
- Will I get a job once I complete the studies?
- Can I get a part time job while I do my studies?
And now, what is the reality?
First thing first. Majority of the student who come here for a two year course, never complete it in given time. Its not uncommon here. It will usually be at least an year or two extra to complete the full course.
But our Indian students are always with the mentality that 2 years course should be done in 2 years. Else you are not worth it. Plus, they plan the finances for two years. So, any overstay is a genuine issue for them and their family.
Now about the job. In most European countries, there are plenty of jobs for sure. But the main requirement is the local language. If you do not master the language, there are minimum chances that you can get into such jobs.
Tell these to the new students, and the first question they shoot back is – How did you get? Even worse, if you people can get, why cannot us?
Congratulation. While I appreciate your confidence, please understand the thin line between the confidence and over confidence.
They think we are jealous of these people, and hence demotivating them. What? Are we the one who is going to print the appointment letter for you? Or the one who st
We don’t do and hence no extra work for us. So, why should we demotivate you guys?
The people providing these suggestions have themselves gone through all these, excelled in those and now in a good position. So, instead of learning from their experience the new kids see them as villains.
Review the Criticism not Critics
Same way, if my visit to a place has been negative and if I genuinely think you could save your money & time by avoiding going there listen.
And if you are not in a mood to listen, why the hell ask for feedback from me? And then if it is negative, jump on me?
This is not only with the places, this hold equally good for any review of the products like books, creations etc.
Do you know what is the problem?
We like something based on our instinct, take a decision and later hear for feedback, not just feedback, but “favorable” feedback. If the feedback is not what you expected, you shoot the messenger.
The day you realize that it works the other way, you will shine.
Yes, please listen, review and then take decision. They say common sense are not so common. But I believe that every human has it, and so please use your common sense.
Do not spend time on the critics. Sometimes, you should investigate the criticism. Look if it makes sense and if it could help you improve.
Rather than looking at the message, if you start always doubting the messenger, Good Luck!
