Winnie the Pooh
Tokyo, Year 2008.
I need to get up early to board my flight back to India. So, I was packing my baggage after a week long trip.
As you know, it is very common in any official trips that you would find no time to buy something you planned to when you left India. Most of my trips will end up me being in the Airport duty-free shop to buy gifts for my family.
But, this was my first trip to Japan after my princess was born. So, I was always planning to buy something for the princess from Japan. My wife was also reminding me on phone everytime I called her. Even after several reminders from my wife over the past week, I could not manage to buy any gifts.
As usual, I thought of getting the gifts from the Singapore Airport during the transit. It is not uncommon for me to buy many things from Singapore airport shopping.
Being a Car craze myself, I managed to get a big collection of cars in the past years while transiting through
I was bit worried since I had no idea on what to do.
Once packing is done, I went to KFC for the dinner. When I left I was coming out of the KFC, I noticed the
Suddenly, I had a curiosity to peep in here if I can find something for my princess. There were a lot of magazines and other Japanese toys but was not much interesting to me. It was then I noticed this Winnie the Pooh that got my attention.

It had a small lever to “key” the toy that was crawling on the floor. Just a few nights before my wife said that my daughter just started to flip & crawl all by herself.
That conversion bought a sweet smile and a flash of my daughter crawling to catch this Pooh. Immediately I decided to buy this small and cute toy for her. What could be better than such a “lively” toy?
She did have a lot of fun. Of course, we parent too, looking at the happiness in those innocent face.
Today, she is grown up and stands next to me shoulder to shoulder. Time is flying.
Wow, it’s almost 10 years.
You know what, after 2013, I relocated to Italy. And I have this toy still on my TV stand. It’s been there for all these years. But this week’s prompt from Blogadda made me go back to all these memories.
Thank you Blogadda.

I remember getting a pooh for myself from my first international trip. Winnie the pooh is so so adorable and now it is loved by my little one.

Such an adorable piece of memory! Could see the transition of a young Dad searching for a toy to a proud father reminiscing the time gone by all courtesy a small toy.
Simple joys of living, what else?
